By George, is it true? OOOPS, what we meant to say is BYE George, it's true, let go Thursday, the attorney/HR Manager is no longer being paid by the taxpayers for a job not very well done. And, we have not heard of any incidents involving road rage where a motorist was aiming a gun at another driver, so hopefully, the counselling has helped! Bye George!
While the taxpayers have been relieved of paying for George's salary, we'd be remiss if we didn't remind everyone that we're continuing to fund that position created by the king for Mr. Pearce over at the TDC for some kind of marketing for our OHP. Yes, the county does contract with a major "Professional" firm who does the very same thing, however, we taxpayers continue to pay for doubles because the king wanted to hold on to Mr. Pearce. Also, still with us is Maria T, the darling of economic development, who has yet to bring home a truly positive economical development project for the county to benefit from taxes AND employment. Before the credit is grabbed up, let no one tell you the new, and coming Lowes, which will be located at the entry to the city of Saint Cloud, was because of Maria and her office. No, the actual reason (and this can be checked out) is because so many Lowes customers wrote the company asking them to consider placing a store in, or near Saint Cloud. We'd also bet Earnie Gearhart may have been involved in the deal.
We will, really, we will keep this one SHORT!
Yesterday's BOCC meeting was interesting but at least it moved ahead. No doubt it was because Commissioner Smith was NOT present, but John Q was. He was also very subdued, had a few comments, kissing up to Maria T's alleged performance in Tallahassee and how she presented issues to the legislature. (Must have been really special balloons and hats for the Legislators!) She was also credited with the "wonderful" turnout at the UCF incubator in Saint Cloud. We wondered why she was getting any praise at all since it was Saint Cloud's Economic Director Ernie Gearhart who put the ribbon cutting together with the assistance of the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce
This will be just a "short" blog for the weekend as we get caught up here. We have some info to pass along, as well as a few questions for our friends at the county, as well as Mr. Quinones.
Over at the county, Greg Hostettler and Ken Atkins are no longer OUR employees. We have received many emails from employees who seem to be celebrating the apparent happy news! We understand that Maria, Gary, Beth, and George are still being paid by us for continued less than admirable job performances. We'll keep you posted as the former king's hand picked elite depart, possibly, for Iowa!
Just a note if you hadn't seen this on WFTV. At approximately 5:00PM, Orange County Commissioner Mildred Fernandez was arrested and charged with 3 felonies, including bribery, unlawful campaign contributions, and grand theft. She was walked in to the jail where she was being processed. Check WFTV.com for more information.
**Please note that these are only charges and nothing has been proved in court. The charges stem from an undercover operation by the FDLE and State Attorney's office. We cannot help but wonder if any elected officials in Osceola County should be concerned, especially with campaign transactions!
