With the holidays fast approaching, we would like to ask all of our readers to set aside whatever political differences they may have, and take the time to reach out to those in our military and their families and show them your support. Write a soldier a letter, ask a military spouse how their loved one is doing, send a care package, or check in on one of our many veterans at home. Remember that they are the heroes and without them, we would not survive.
There are links below to various veteran organizations. Nearly all of them will accept donations or volunteer services in one way or another.

A quick search for “adopt a soldier program” yielded hundreds of websites so we could not determine exactly which were legitimate and which were not. Instead, we will list contact information for the Fort Bragg adopt a soldier program.
********
Fort Bragg’s “Adopt A Soldier” Program gives the civilian community an opportunity to show their support of deployed Soldiers on an individual and personal basis. The “adoption” involves sending letters and care packages for the duration of the Soldier’s deployment. For additional information on how the program works, please contact Ms. Vicky Lee, Community Relations, at vicky.lee@us.army.mil or 910-396-5401.

Thank you for your time, and please head over to The Voice and let us know how you honored a soldier today!
Just a quick reminder to make your thoughts count and head to the polls and vote.
If the osceola.org website comes back up sometime today, we will add a link here for information.

This letter was sent to us so by “Concerned Parent” and we thought we would share. Please add your comments and opinions below. Please note that we can neither agree or disagree and the opinions expressed belong to their author.
Daphne:
I just read your story after being told about it by a fellow employee. As a parent of a child in the Osceola Child Development Center it was the worst way to find out they might be closing it. Not only that when I called and asked if there was anything I could do the help get parents involved to show our support for the center, I found out that staff there found out the way I did, from the newspaper. How great is that?
In the article it said… If the program were to close, Freilinger said that would not happen until December or January and the county “would have an orderly process in which parents and employees would be notified.”
How, from the newspaper? Can I just say this was the worst! There was no warning, no one was even told this might be a possibility! I’m not sure if parents have been out there to look at the other day cares but before my daughter was born I looked, and was sad to see the other centers they have out there. Not all of them are bad, but most are not even close to how good this center is.
Also stated in your article: Close the Osceola County Child Development Center, a program for infants, toddlers and preschoolers of public employees. The county spends about $300,000 a year to subsidize the program, which serves about 40 children.
A little insight, I think there are more than 40 children and it is only for county employees, it is not for the public. I think there may be a few other agencies that are allowed to have their children there, but it is not for the public.
Thank you for your time.

We have added a new section featuring movie reviews from the popular critic Mr. Black.
http://ksib.net/index.php/Movies
This is a featured column that is also listed next to Carl Cricket and The Informer. Mr. Black doesn’t actually post here, we are merely syndicating his work, so if you want to chat with him, you will have to head to his forums at http://mrblacksreviews.com/forums and register there.
Mr. Black offers regular video reviews of the latest blockbusters in the theatres. Have a look at this new Featured Column, particularly if you plan on heading out to one of the local theatres.
About Mr. Black:
The following is an excerpt from his youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/mrblacksmoviereviews which by the way, we hope you subscribe to (doesn’t cost anything to subscribe) and help support his efforts.
IF YOU ARE TIRED OF OLD FASHION MOVIE CRITICS, JOIN MY CHANNEL AND GET THE SCOOP FROM SOMEONE WHO IS NOT OUT OF TOUCH WITH TODAY’S MOVIES
Many so called “movie critics” are writers and journalists, not movie fans. They do it as a job. I do it for the love of movies. That is not to say that there are not any good critics, but the more I hear from them, the more I thought I needed to make this channel. This is a channel for the movie fan, not movie critic.
I have watched a lot of movies over the years and have recommended many movies to many friends. Finally I decided to put a page up with my thoughts and comments on movies I love and hate.
If you like to discuss movies or want your opinion heard, subscribe to my channel and join my movie forums to be around other movie fans here on YouTube.
We hope you enjoy this new feature of KSIB and check for his movie reviews often. Please rate them and add your own comments about these movies too so other KSIB users can decide whether to watch a movie or not.
Thank you,
- Administration

At this time we have completed rebuilding the following categories:
We have started rebuilding the local information section and the games section. We will begin asking for volunteer news reporters in the next few weeks, so watch this area for details.
Please read our disclaimer regarding the information that may be displayed form time to time. It is important to understand that our user contributed articles and submissions may or may not be factual or anything but gossip and hearsay.
Finally, we have plans to open the free community blogs in the next few days. If you have always dreamed of writing your own articles and “being published” you are about to have a fantastic opportunity. Who knows, if you contribute regularly, and your columns are well received by the community, we may offer you a featured column that would appear on its own Next to Carl Cricket’s and The Informer.
Some ideas for possible featured columns would include those who write about local events, sports teams, schools, community services etc.
Our public blog will be open to all registered users provided that the system is not abused.
Thank you and we hope you enjoy KSIB.net.

I just found out some other computer stores are charging a ridiculously high price (over $150) for installing a wireless adapter and connecting St. Cloud residents to the “free” Cyber-Spot Broadband connection offered to the community. I don’t want to name the company, or point my fingers, however I do want to get the word out about a better solution.
These guys have been serving the community for over 12 years. A great deal of you will remember their shop towards the end of town by Big Lots, but now they have opened up their new location in the Cumberland Farms Shopping Plaza about mid-town.
They are running a nice special until the end of September, 2007 where you can take your tower into them and purchase a wireless adapter (at very reasonable rates in my opinion) and they will not only install it and set it up to work with the “free” broadband connection, but they will scan for and remove any viruses, trojans, malware, spyware, etc., and make sure your computer has the latest security updates and service packs.
How much you ask?
Only $25 + the cost of the wireless adapter!
Give Cyber Tex a call, send them an email or head on in and don’t forget to tell them KSIB sent you!
You can find their contact information on netkafe:
