Osceola County (November 13, 2009)

Osceola County Sheriff’s detectives need the public’s help in locating an armed robbery suspect. On November 12 at approximately 4:00 a.m., Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Osceola Regional Medical Center in reference to a possible stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim, a taxi cab driver, who indicated a black male attempted to rob him at gunpoint.

Earlier in the morning, the taxi cab driver was in the area of Oxford Drive and Polynesian Isle Boulevard when he was waved down by a black male. The suspect got into the front passenger seat of the cab and asked to be taken to Poinciana. They drove through the parking lot towards the Hess Station when the suspect demanded money. The driver stopped the vehicle and a physical altercation ensued outside of the vehicle at which time the suspect pulled out a knife. The driver stepped backward and was cut by the knife. He only received minor injuries and was released from the hospital.

The driver describes the suspect as a black male, approximately 5′10”, 150 lbs. with a thin build in his late thirties or forties. He had short salt and pepper hair and beard and was wearing a gray, zip-up sweatshirt with a hood, a white undershirt and blue jeans.
