Kissimmee Utility Authority is saddened to announce the death of board chairman William C. "Bill" Hart who passed away unexpectedly this morning at the age of 59. He is survived by his son Jeff and daughter Tracy.

Mr. Hart suffered a heart attack on April 18 and was recovering at home from double bypass surgery.

"We are deeply saddened by Bill's death," said Jim Welsh, KUA president and general manager. "Those of us who knew him respected him as a business leader with an inexhaustible passion for this community. I can't begin to express the great personal loss to me, as well as to the entire KUA family."

Mr. Hart was vice president of the surveying and engineering firm Franklin Hart and Reid and a Kissimmee resident since 1975. He joined the KUA board in 2001 and served as both director and secretary before being elected chairman in October 2007.

Mr. Hart's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida, as well as a Master of Organization Management degree from the University of Phoenix.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced.

I'll miss Bill as he was, very much a stand up guy. My thoughts and prayers to his son and family. Even though divorced, I know Donna still had a warm spot for him.
