Sheriff's & KPD very busy! County Commission ready to insult us all. What's with the Teka fiasco & where's the State Attorney?

The Kissimmee Police Department has been a busy bunch, making arrests and looking for suspects.

On Wednesday, around 9:15AM a man was approached by 2 dirtbags who robbed him in the stairwell of his apartment on Destiny Drive in the Legacy Apartments. Despite assistance from the Sheriff’s helicopter and KPD K-9 unit, the suspects were not located.

Both are described as black males, about 6′ tall, one is about 165 to 170 pounds, last seen wearing a gray hooded style shirt, black sweatpants, and “shiny house shoes” similar to slippers. The other is a skinny rat, maybe 140 to 160 pounds and last seen wearing a red hooded style shirt with black sleeves, blue jeans, and black sneakers.

If YOU know, or suspect who these idiots are, please call KPD at 407-846-3333 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477. Remember, if you see it, or hear about it, report it! It’s your neighborhood.

[More:]

KPD also conducted a reverse drug sting operation in McLaren Circle and locked up almost a dozen druggies. KPD Chief Fran Iwanski says KPD will continue to work with the area’s citizens to get rid of all the dopers in the neighborhood. That’s good news!

The Sheriff’s office has also had a busy time. In Poinciana, after a football game, a juvenile was stabbed after being involved in an altercation with 2 dummies. One of the dummies, Antione Brown, stabbed the victim several times and is now locked up in a cage where the animal belongs! The victim ws airlifted to a local hospital (because Poinciana still has no hospital) where he’s expected to make full recovery.

They also arrested a suspect from Kissimmee, Jason Font (dob:5/16/79) of 724 Caribou Drive,Kissimmee who was charged with travelling to Poinciana in an attempt to have sex with a local 16 year old. The pervert is now in a cage awaiting bail for a $2000 bond.
Two other genuises, Jean Marc Agnant (dob:8/5/88) of 4642 Huron Bay Circle, and Akeem Cajah Codrington (dob:10/2/87) of 4644 Huron Bay Circle, Kissimmee were charged with Armed Robbery and Aggravaed assault with a firearm after these brave guys robbed a fellow pumping gas at the Hess Station on John Young Parkway. Both of these animals are also in cages.

Our law enforcement officials face many different situations every day and have to deal with some of the worst pieces of crap human beings out there in order to protect all of us. Next time you see someone in law enforcement, just smile and say thanks.

Monday’s Commission meeting will prove to be a costly one for ALL residents of Osceola County and might even mean a sound kick in our butts, compliments of the County Commission. Why you ask?

On the County agenda, near the beginning of the meeting, the commission will decide on 3 contracts , one each for the County Manager, Mike Freilinger, Attorney Jo Thacker, and Auditor Kathy Wall.

While we’re not terribly fond of the Manager, we see no harm in renewing everyone’s contract. The absolute insult is the nerve in giving Freilinger more than a $20,000 raise, to an annual salary of $206,000 PLUS benefits!ARE YOU KIDDING???

This county has booted many, many hard working employees because the county ALLEGEDLY was short on funds. There’s still been no proof of that since the Manager and his clique continue to spend on expense accounts, gas mileagereimbursements, and other little perks, despite some failures within the system, such as at the Corrections Department and in the Property Department where David Peach still has not secured a certain property he had been instructed to months ago! We have heard the arguments that you cannot blame the Manager for everything because he has managers that are supposed to be taking care of business. That’s true BUT, it is the MANAGER who is responsible for them! When they fail, he fails, and he has been failing miserably since he’s arrived. In an alleged shortfall of funding, how can yo “demote” someone to a position that had paid half of what the alleged demoted person was making, yet, allow that person to keep HER salary? That is NOT management, that is STUPIDITY! And, an insult to every hard working adult in Osceola County.

Jo Thacker, the County Attorney, will go from $177,457 to $186,330 per year and Kathy Wall will rise from $144,283 to $153,590 per year. ONLY the manager will possibly receive a $20,000 plus raise.!

Here’s a suggestion for any of the Commissioners. How about FREEZING ALL salaries over a certain amount, say, $125,000.00? No raises for a period of one year, reviewable each year thereafter.

Freilinger’s lack of experience in County Management has shown, actually glared, since his arrival here. The total lack of common sense does not deserve to be rewarded. Not now, in these lack of funds times!

For those of you concerned, here’s what YOU can do. Send an email or call the Commissioners and let them know how you feel about this. Even if you’re in favor, let them know. It’s time all of Osceola speaks up.
Chairman Ken Shipley kshi@osceola.org
Commissioner Bill Lane blan@osceola.org
Comm John Quinones johnq@osceola.org
Comm Ken Smith ken.smith@osceola.org
Comm Paul Owen powe@osceola.org
Let them know just how you feel.

Another interesting item is the contract being given to Terry Seagraves of Kissimmee who will promote Osceola County as a tourist attraction in exchange for a mere $101,000.00.

We’ll do it for $50,000 guys, if you want to save some money!

The item we’ve been interested in, Teka Village, is still not on the county agenda! It’s been months since the county voted to provide funding towards a private wall/fence for the Teka Village folks in St Cloud but since approving it, Commissioner Ken Smith, seemingly single handedly, denied the actions of the Commission and told the Teka Village folks they would NOT get the funding. Interesting because the Commission NEVER MET after approving the funding, so we’re still wondering just how Smith came to this conclusion.

We hope the State Attorney, Lawson Lamar, who is also up for re-election, will look into this matter. Meanwhile, the folks at Teka Village have no new wall/fence, the City of St. Cloud awaits the County’s determination, and the County, well, they’re apparently allowing Smith to run the show. What a joke. And they wonder why people don’t trust politicians?

Disgustedly, we’ll end this with wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

God bless you all. Be healthy and please, stay safe!

Too bad some idiot has gone a ruined it for everyone else, but at least it wasn't on the Cricket's page!

These commissioners had better learn fast that we've had enough. Lane knows it now, and so will Owen. Shipley is gone so that just leaves Smith and Quinones, both are rubber stamps for staff. They too need to go!

Holy Cow! The CM lays off (fires) 60+ people, then gives himself a nearly 11% raise! What's going on at the Admin Building - who's REALLY running the show? Don't bother sending your email complaints to Mr. Lane - let's face it, he was a one-issue Commissioner before the election, (exactly how many times does he have to tell everyone how "HE" got the Narcoossee Road project started ahead of schedule), so now, with his days numbered, he's going to be little more than a lame duck. Before he gets a single extra dime, someone should ask him one question - why did the County have to let 60+ people go, but yet almost no one was let go in St. Cloud or Kissimmee? Nothing this CM says or does makes sense to anyone with the intelligence of a 10-year-old, (how does the County save money by firing the entire Probation Dept., (these folks actually made money for the County through the various fees they collected), then bringing in a private, for-profit outfit, or gutting the Engineering and Transportation Departments and bringing in a bunch of high-priced (rumored to cost in excess of $200 per hour for some positions) consultants and project managers to do the same work). And of course there is the mess at the Corrections Dept., which may arguably be the worst run department in the entire County. This County is rapidly going to hell in a handbasket, and not a single Commissioner is either aware of this or seems to care. These Commissioners should fire this guy, not reward him for his incompetence. Hopefully these new people that are running for the Commission will see him for what he is and they will do something about him - preferably send him packing.
