That’s the question of the day, as the Executive Board of the Osceola Foundation meets today to discuss the actions of their board in the past. The layout we’ve been given follows.
Over the past 10 years, the Osceola Foundation applied for, and was given grants in the amounts of $10,000.00 per year, since. This year, we understand the TDC’s pledge may be $15,000.00! The TDC Chairman, who has some loose connections to the Osceola Foundation, as we’re told, MAY have been instrumental in pushing the item through. Another BIG question is how did this item manage to slip by the Osceola County Commission for 10 years?
*It should be noted here that the TDC has legal restraints in the expenditure of tourist taxing dollars and the Osceola Foundation, we believe, does NOT meet the standards/qualifications to receive a grant from the TDC.
IF what we have told you here is true, there is a major problem, both legal and financial, for the Osceola County Commission, one member of which is a PAID employee of the Foundation.
We have no idea what it takes for a grand jury investigation to be commenced, but now seems to be an outstanding time for one to be convened!
Today, the item is on the Foundation’s Executive Board agenda and will, no doubt, be heavily discussed. In fact, we’ve heard the wagons in many camps have begun to circle, but documentation is a wonderful thing in this case. All it takes is time and research for the truth to come out. Hopefully, it will be soon.
Meanwhile, we’ll continue to forward these blogs to LAWSON LAMAR and RANDY MEANS of the State’s Attorney’s office and hope for the best.
God Bless you all. Thank you for your emails and comments, and remember the blog is wide open for your opinions!
