Foundation loses more gravy,What 's with St Cloud's performance last Thursday? Good Time Gemskie has company in Tallahassee, UCF's O'Leary may be gone by week's end, Commissioner Harford opens the calander for ALL to see, Will the Wolf roar?

The Foundation lost a little more gravy when the City Commission (Kissimmee) decided to save another $10,000 and cancel the contract they had with The Foundation to oversee the Charter School’s contract. Apparently they may not have done such a bang up job as there are problems with the books of the Kissimmee Charter Academy. The company running the show says it will bring in a new bookkeeper and get to the bottom of the money problems. Hmmm, wonder if any “grants” were written to any other group?

Florida’s Governor Charlie “Good Time Charlie” Crist is facing a lot of heat for his ecent European trip which cost ALL taxpayers $430,000 for him and his entourage. Sharing the Good Time logo, perhaps the Governor is in training for a seat on the Kissimmee Commission? He and Mr “Good Time” Gemskie seem to have lots in common when it comes to wasting tax dollars.

Just what the heck was last Thursday’s St Cloud City Council meeting all about? We’ve gotten many emails asking what happened to that review Councilmen Fertic,Griffin, and Polachek so badly wanted in the beginning of the year? There was NO review and the only discussions were on the future goals for the city, which the City Manager laid out nicely for the Council. Many citizens are shaking their heads and wondering what’s next! Meanwhile, as far as anyone in St Cloud can fathom, the City Manager and Attorney must be doing a great job since not one member had anything to say regarding the CM or CA.

Funny rumor coming out of St Cloud. We received an email that Glenn Sangiovanni, former Mayor of the city is considering hopping in this coming election (again), this time, against Councilwoman Mickey Hopper! Why funny? She’s run circles around his record and people still feel that mistrust of him since his glory days with a couple of his non elected buddies. Forget it Glen, it just won’t happen.

Osceola County Commissioners are off to a fairly good start with some appointments and Commissioner Mike Harford posting his calander for all to see. Talk about transparent! We’d love to see ALL the Commission members also post their calanders so ALL citizens know what our Commissioners (our employees) are doing.

So far, there is no discussion slated for the upcoming workshop on Signature Crossing, the public housing projects that out of towner Jonathan Wolf has been trying to shove down everyone’s throat. Seems he got his request in too late, but the county manager then notified him and said unless the school board makes an official request, there will be no further discussions. Good for the County Manager! Enough is enough. In fact, why have a workshop wasting everyone’s time and money? Set aside a “special meeting” one afternoon, have timed discussion from both sides and let the Commission (the new group) vote and get it over with! Too much time has been wasted on this thing while there are other more serious problems the Commission needs to deal with. As Richard Herring stated on Monday, while the commission wants to think about this project, it’ll cost more than 30 employees their careers. Herring said the Commission should help the County Manager come up with those jobs to be eliminated in order to waste $1.8 million.

Looks like UCF Coach Geroge O’Leary may be out as head football coach by Friday, or earlier! Rumors are flying that Florida Defensive coach, Charlie Strong, may be coming in as the new Head Coach. After all the winning games Florida has posted this could be a real breath of fresh air and ideas for UCF!

Finally, the Orlando Predators Arena Football League team, has a new majority owner. Brett Bouchy, former owner, has purchased a majority from local Engineer Ron Howse. Smart move by Howse as the NFL just announced a suspension of all games while the league reorganizes. Howse has that magic touch of knowing when to say when!

We’ve been reading the blog and just want to thank all who have participated. We knew Osceola had a bunch of intelligent folks and we’re sure gladd to have them here.

Kissimmee P.D. has been busy with traffic enforcement and chasing bad guys. They now have, as you may have seen, a couple of three wheeled Spyder cycles, which are energy efficient, safe, and also more cost effective for maintainence. Good luck to our fine Police Department as they go out to protect us.

God Bless you all. Be healthy and alwasy be safe.

Hopefully the County Commissioners and Executive Staff know that ALL their calendars are public record. I've heard of some agencies in Orange County who have standing requests from the media for their calendars. They keep the appts they don't want the public to know about on their Assistants calendars.

According to SOE , Glen has his hat in for District 4 in 2010. That's public record, not rumor.

Sangiovanni stands little chance of winning any elections in this neck of the woods. The guy is more of a con artist than anything else. And I have heard the rumors of him considering a run for the Council. The thought is, if he won, his name would be out there for the county effort.
I believe he'll lose on either try, at least I hope so!

Anyone see the out of town developer, Jonathan Wolf in the county yesterday? Umm,maybe it was Tuesday, but he was there trying to see commissioners. It seems no one wanted to talk to him except for smith. Of course smith has to talk to the boss!
