First, from overnight here’s the latest from the Sheriff’s Office. Seems we’re stuck with a lot of crime lately. Let’s try to help get these dirtbags!
Deputies Investigate Multiple Burglaries on West 192
Osceola County – Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating three burglaries on West 192 and two suspects are currently in custody. The investigation began at approximately 2:42 a.m. when deputies responded to a burglary alarm at 2927 Vineland Road in Kissimmee. Upon arrival, deputies observed broken glass where the front door was smashed open and electronic items in the store were missing. Approximately 20 minutes later, deputies responded to a burglary alarm at Target located at 4795 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway. Deputies met with store management at the location but nothing appeared suspicious. At 4:04 a.m. employees who were opening the store reported the front doors were broken and items from the jewelry counter were missing. At 5:10 a.m. deputies responded to Digital 4 Less located at 5001 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in reference to a burglary alarm. The front doors of the store were smashed open and electronic items were stolen.
Minutes later deputies located the suspects and conducted a traffic stop on West 192 near Poinciana Boulevard. Detectives are currently interviewing the suspects who might be responsible for multiple burglaries in Central Florida. The investigation is on-going at this time with additional charges pending.
As Monday’s County Commission Manager’s Lovefest was coming to a close, Commissioner Fred Hawkins expressed his disappointment with the City of St. Cloud for not involving the County in a ribbon cutting ceremony regarding the UCF Incubator, a joint operation and asset to the City. The County played a role in this facility by contributing some money as an incentive to locating in Osceola County. Not a big deal but we understood Hawkin’s disappointment. The meeting had just finished when in comes St. Cloud’s Mayor Donna Hart, who headed straight for Hawkins. With her hands on her hips she proceeded to tell him something (we can only guess) but we overheard Hawkins say to her, “see those two ladies? I wish you’d tell them what you just told me". Promptly, Hart went over to County Manager assistant Beth Knight, and Economical guru Maria Grulich. There, Hart again, with hands on hips, proceeded to say something, we believe, might have been beyond a quote. We later learned that while Hawkins had apparently been left out (again), Maria grulich had been completely involved with the incubator set up and ribbon cutting and had actually told the city she’d handle the invitations to the Commissioners. That was MORE THAN A WEEK AGO, we’re told.
Grulich actually was overheard telling Hart that she was trying to get up to correct the Commissioner but wasn’t able to. We disagree. We never observed Maria grulich move one foot towards the Commissioner. She never raised a hand, never attempted a signal to him. Unlike a couple of the commissioners currently sitting up there, Hawkins would have seen her and would have invited her up to speak, as he has done in the past. AND, once again, the county manager simply had no idea or clue as to what was going on, so he departed the chambers. What a leader.
Now, thanks to this style of management, we have both cities not happy with the county, plus BVL and Poinciana. What else is left?
That’s it. In disgust we leave you to try to have a much better day!
