TUESDAY ELECTION WINNERS - HOPPER AND FERTIC ! !

St. Cloud registered voters now total 20,365.Those who chose to vote in Tuesday’s election 1,598.This would be 7.85% of the 20,365. Not a great turnout with less than 8% electing council members to do our bidding for the next two years!

SEAT-4 RESULTS:

Mickey Hopper 871 votes 55.73%
Jeffry Krotts 386 votes 24.70%
Heidy Molner 306 votes 19.58%

SEAT-5 RESULTS:

Jarom Fertic 829 votes 52.90%
Russell Holmes 738 votes 47.10%

CHANGE OF DATE ELECTION:

YES 1220 votes 79.07%
NO 323 votes 20.93%

FOUR YEAR COUNCIL TERMS:

YES 814 votes 52.75%
NO 729 votes 47.25%

Ok, it looks like Mickey Hopper easily beat her two challengers for seat-4.She must be doing something right. Council members could take a lesson here! Well lets look to see what happened for seat-5.Jarom Fertic retained his seat for a second term. The margin of victory was a bit closer. The newcomer Russell Holmes worked hard so we have been told, but just couldn’t quite pull it off. These five people worked very hard trying to get elected. For that I say good job! Now for the 18,767 what happened? I know there’s work, family, etc. etc. but the need to elect our officials with a mandate of large voter numbers is needed. I just wish waving a magic wand would do the trick for a better voter turnout.

In the next 20 month’s our council will face many challenges for our community. We as citizens need to attend those meetings to show our support and keep our cities future in check! Only then will we have a good government FOR THE PEOPLE,OF THE PEOPLE,AND BY THE PEOPLE !!!

So, here in St Cloud, the more we want change, the more it stays the same! Mr Fertic had better realize he received no mandate from the taxpayers. For some reason, a majority of them did not vote at all!

Not one piece of mail hit my mailbox about any election, and that is exactly the way they like it.
