Detectives Arrest Doctor for Sexual Battery

Osceola County - On December 9, Osceola County Sheriff's detectives arrested Basharat Hussain and charged him with Sexual Battery.

The investigation began on December 8 when deputies took a report from a 20-year old woman.

The victim told deputies her physician is Dr. Basharat Hussain, owner of Wellness & Primary Care located at 2901 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee.

Approximately 3 weeks ago, she visited his office for an annual gynecological examination. During the exam, Dr. Hussain and a female nurse were in the room.

Based on the results of her exam, Dr. Hussain referred her to a gynecologist for follow up.

Openings for December 15 Self-Defense Awareness Program for Women

Osceola County - The Osceola County Sheriff's Office has openings for a self-defense awareness program for women scheduled for December 15, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

Self Defense Awareness Familiarization Exchange or SAFE is designed to educate women on how to protect themselves if they should become a victim.

The 2-hour class teaches that 90% of self-defense is awareness, risk reduction and avoiding confrontation, while only 10% is physical.

"Taking responsibility and educating yourself is the first step in staying safe. Although you may not be able to prevent an attack from occurring, there are ways to protect yourself and lessen your chances of becoming a victim,” states Sheriff Hansell.

Detectives Need Public's Helping Identifying Regions Bank Armed Robbery Suspect

Osceola County (December 7, 2015) – Osceola County Sheriff's detectives need the public's help identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery.

Today at approximately 3:40 p.m., deputies responded to the Regions Bank located at 50 Blake Boulevard in Celebration. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with an employee who indicated an unknown male entered the bank, implied he had a weapon and handed the teller a note which demanded money. The employee complied and the suspect fled the area with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20's or early 30's, approximately 5'9” with a medium build. He was wearing sunglasses on his head and a black jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Osceola County Sheriff's Office at (407) 348-2222 or Crimeline at (800) 423-TIPS (8477). Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous, and tips that lead to the felony arrest of suspects and/or the recovery of stolen property and drugs are eligible for cash rewards of up to $5,000 dollars.

Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder in Domestic Incident

Osceola County - November 18, 2015 – Today at approximately 8:40 a.m., Osceola County Sheriff's deputies responded to a residence on Paradise Cay Circle in Kissimmee. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a mother who indicated her son, Matthew Joshua Jones, stabbed her boyfriend. The mother told deputies she became involved in a verbal argument with her son regarding money.

During the dispute, Jones threw a television set on the floor and began yelling at his mom. The mother's boyfriend attempted to talk to Jones when he stabbed him several times.
