Osceola County – Meet Sheriff Bob Hansell at the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Annual Community Appreciation Day and Open House on Saturday, March 14, from 10:00 a.m. to2:00 p.m.
The event will be held at the Osceola County Sheriff's Administration Complex, 2601 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee.
Annually, thousands of residents attend the event to meet deputies and learn more about the Sheriff's Office. Last year, more than 50 local businesses and non-profit organizations participated in the day's activities with booths, which also included crime prevention and safety displays and demonstrations from various Sheriff's Office Specialty Units including K-9, Mounted Patrol and S.W.A.T.
Activities such as moon walks and face painting will be available for children.
Tours of the Osceola County Emergency Operations Center and Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center will also be given. The event is free and open to the public.
Osceola County (January 9, 2015) – Early this morning, Osceola County Sheriff's agents with the Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) conducted a search warrant at 1475 Tileston Road in St. Cloud, after receiving numerous complaints about criminal activity at the residence.
The homeowner, Dawn Margaret Messer was arrested and charged with Sale & Delivery of Cocaine, Sale & Delivery of Heroin and Sale & Delivery of Drug Paraphernalia. Agents took into evidence 7 grams of heroin, 5 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of cannabis, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.
In addition, 2 firearms (one of which was reported stolen) were recovered and $26,630 dollars in cash was seized.
Osceola County (January 7, 2015) – Osceola County Sheriff's deputies, in conjunction with the Polk County Sheriff's Office arrested three suspects involved in more than 50 residential burglaries in Osceola and Polk Counties.
Freddie James Solomon is currently in the Polk County Jail.
On January 4, deputies with the Osceola County Tourist Policing Unit and Community Response Team were conducting an undercover operation when they observed Brian Wiggins and David Jones, suspects in multiple residential burglaries, drive into the Paradise Palms subdivision.
Wiggins and Jones pulled into the driveway of 8937 Cuban Palm and entered the residence. Deputies surrounded the residence and announced through a loud speaker for the suspects to exit. Eventually, Wiggins and Jones attempted to flee the residence by exiting through a window. Both suspects were apprehended and taken into custody. It was later determined, Wiggins and Jones attempted to hide in the attic, but fell through the ceiling.
UPDATE:Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Cesar Omar Diaz-Rojas who was wanted on numerous felony warrants. Rojas was at a friend’s residence located at 2271 West Roble Drive in Kissimmee.
His friend, Pedro Maldonado-Jimenez (image below), a registered felon, was also arrested for assisting Rojas, in addition to resisting and drug related charges. Rojas and Jimenez are being booked into the Osceola County Jail.
Osceola County (January 6, 2015) – Osceola County Sheriff's deputies have obtained a felony warrants for Cesar Omar Diaz-Rojas for Escape, Assault, Battery, Retail Theft, Resisting a Merchant, Petit Theft and Resisting Arrest Without Violence.
The investigation began on January 5 at approximately 10:21 p.m. when deputies responded to Target located at 4795 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the loss prevention manager who indicated they had detained Rojas after they observed him stealing merchandise. Rojas is a suspect in three other petit thefts at the same location.
